  • Workday enables you to add effective dates to service date changes. You can add effective dates to new service date changes on the Edit Service Dates task. You can add effective dates to existing service dates change events by correcting the Service Dates Change business process.

Effects on Absence Eligibility

  • If your absence eligibility conditions reference service dates (e.g. Original Hire Date, Seniority Date, Time Off Service Date, etc.), there might be impacts to time off accruals

Enables you to purge dependent and beneficiary data for active employees.

Availability: Set Up Required

Level of Effort

Why this is important: Previously, you could only purge this data for terminated workers. We’re now able to secure PII by purging Dependents and Beneficiaries for Active employees. Keep in mind that once this data is purged, it cannot be undone.

  • Create a custom report using active worker data sources
  • Tag the report using Purge Task
  • You can Filter the report and use columns to identify dependents and beneficiaries
  • Open a service ticket requesting to purge dependents and beneficiaries identified by your custom report. 
  • Once the service request is completed, you’ll be able to purge the dependents and beneficiaries in Production

Mobile Benefits UI Rearchitecture

Transition from old Benefits Mobile UI to new UI 

Availability: Automatically Available

Why this is important: Improved UI for Workday Benefits in the Mobile application. This transition improves security and accessibility.

For Benefits on the Workday mobile app, there are changes to the UI appearance and presentation of information for workers. Workers will notice visual changes, but functionality remains the same for mobile enrollment.

Enhanced accessibility in Benefits on mobile with a Generalized UI solution. New accessibility features include:

  • Dynamic text resizing
    Voice over and talk back
    Translation to languages other than U.S. English (based on the user’s profile settings)

The Generalized UI solution will continue to be improved upon and kept up to date with new accessibility improvements.

Administrator Security for Compensation

Workday updates report security to restrict sensitive compensation data to authorized administrators with appropriate access

Availability: Automatically Available

Why this is important: This update ensures sensitive worker compensation information is protected by restricting access to only authorized administrators, helping maintain confidentiality and compliance with security policies.

Workday updates the security evaluation for the following reports:

  • Compensation History
  • Compensation Summary View
  • View External Student History by Category
  • View Worker History by Category

Additional Security needed to view Bonus, Stock, and One Time Payment History in these reports

  • On top of the Worker Data: Historical Staffing Information domain, you will need to add security groups to the Worker Data: Compensation by Organization, Worker Data: Stock Grants, and Worker Data: Period Activity Pay domains
  • Without access to these domains, Administrators will not see bonus, stock, and OTP history within the worker history and compensation history reports

Total Rewards Template Conversion

Workday 2025 R1 enables you to convert older Total Rewards templates to the new template format

Infinite Scrolling on Compensation Review Planning Grid

By enabling infinite scrolling, Workday improves performance and makes assessing employees more intuitive

Why this is important: Infinite Scrolling will allow for easier navigation, better performance, and enhanced visibility during a compensation review process.

  • Workday now enables infinite scrolling for compensation review grids with over 50 rows, improving usability and performance when managing large compensation reviews
  • The limit for Preferred Compensation Review Employee Awards Grid has increased from 500 to 2000, allowing organizations to review more employees at once

Canada Annual Tax Filing – T4/T4A Integration

The T4/T4A Integration for Payroll for Canada year-end tax reporting is updated

Why this is important: These updates support compliance with Canada Revenue Agency updates to the T4 and T4A Year End XML Forms.

These new parameters are delivered to the Canada Annual Tax Filing – T4/T4A Integration

  • Override BN15 (optional)
    If you use MyBA, Web Access Code (WAC), or Represent a Client (RAC) for year-end tax filing, enter a 15-character business number and use it to override the 15-character business number that displays on the T4 and T4A Canada Year End Tax Filing XML forms in the T619 section. The value you enter for Override BN15 (optional) needs to match the company you log in with for Canada Revenue Agency but doesn’t need to match the company business number you are filing for that’s listed in the integration launch parameters. Only one Override BN15 (optional) entry is required even if you select multiple companies. 
  • Transmitter Rep ID (optional)
    When using Represent a Client (RAC) for year-end tax filing, enter your 7-character Transmitter Rep ID to display on the T4 and T4A Canada Year End Tax Filing XML forms in the T619 section. Only one Transmitter Rep ID (optional) entry is required, even when you select multiple companies. If you use Transmitter Rep ID for year-end tax filing, you will also need to update the Override BN15 (optional) with the BN15 you use to login with the Canada Revenue Agency.

Generated AI Feedback on Course Comments

  • Identifies actionable feedback by using AI to generate a high-level summary of employee comments and interactions with learning course content
  • Summarized Content will be broken down into 4 sections based off learner comments
  • Positives, Negatives, Technical Issues, Suggestions
  • Learning Content must have at least 5 feedback comments with a minimum of 20 characters each
  • Will ignore comments like “Done” or “Completed”, to help target more insightful commentary to improve feedback

Learning Administrator Capabilities

  • Edit, save, or regenerate AI-generated feedback summaries, and remove learner comments from the summary view.
  • Access source feedback comments via Administer Activity Stream domain permissions.

  • With this automatic release, Workday provides an option under Edit Tenant Setup – HCM to Disable AI Summarized Feedback
