Donate Time Off: Time Off Bank

Enhance existing time off and leave functionality by allowing organizations to set up voluntary time off banks

Availability: Set Up Required

Level of Effort

Why this is important: This feature will allow administrators to define bank names, units, and effective-dated settings. An administrator can now manually adjust a bank’s balance and and review the adjustments that have been made in the past.

Key Feature Overview
  • Organizations can now create centralized banks where workers can voluntarily donate unused time off. These donated days can then be requested by workers facing personal or medical emergencies.
  • Administrators can define eligibility, minimum donation/withdrawal amounts, donation increments, effective dates, and manually adjust bank balances.
  • New reporting fields and data sources will provide visibility into donation and request history.
  • Feature is optional. Already existing donation functionality remains unchanged if an organization chooses not to create time off banks.

Donate Time Off: Peer to Peer

Ability for workers to donate their accrued time off to coworkers who may need additional time off

Availability: Set Up Required

Level of Effort

Why this is important: The feature provides flexibility for employees to assist one another while allowing administrators to configure and control donation limits and eligibility, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, such as U.S. Federal regulations, and financial liabilities.

  • Submitted donation events currently cannot be corrected or sent back through the business process.

Assign Work Schedule Calendars by Position

Work schedule calendars can now be assigned by position

Availability: Set Up Required

Level of Effort

Why this is important: When you create assignments on the position level, Workday can more accurately calculate time blocks, validate absence requests against specific work schedules, and support complex multiple position scenarios in payroll.

Key Feature Overview
  • Workday can calculate time blocks and validate absence requests against the specific position’s work schedule.
  • Assign Work Schedule and Assign Custom Work Schedule tasks now allow schedules to be assigned to a specific position.
  • Workday alerts users when a schedule overlaps with an existing assignment for the same position or with schedule blocks across positions within 90 days.
  • Workday evaluates eligibility for the primary position; additional positions require direct work schedule calendar assignments. Feature better reflects workers scheduled commitments, especially for irregular schedules, leave and schedule changes.
  • Position-based assignments prevent managers from making ad-hoc schedule changes through My Team’s Schedule and prevent workers from making self-service edits.

Adaptive

Columnar View on Cube Sheets

Toggle cube sheets between standard and columnar views

Modernized Learning Course Overview and User Experience

Workday Learning updates the learner course overview page and more consistent workday learning landing page

Availability: Set Up Required

UI updates are desktop only; for Workday Learning, powered by Sana customers, updates are already available in Production tenants.

Key Feature Overview
  • Redesigned Course Overview page featuring:
  • A larger course image area instead of a small thumbnail with summary of duration, delivery method, skill level, lessons, and units below the image and actions

  • Navigation blocks implemented in the mobile learning framework to render lesson links unclickable and prevent direct deep-link routing to completed native, media, or external lesson content
Screenshot of the Disable View Course Again checkbox in Workday Learning.
